Kristin Audio Page
By Jasmine | 01 May 2008 | 1 Comments |
I've added an Audio/Discography section to the site which lists all of Kristin's album work (to my knowledge--if you notice anything that I've missed, please let me know!) In this section of the site you can listen to clips and purchase Kristin's songs on soundtracks, solo albums, and compilation albums.Thank you Sam, for being my guinea pig and helping test all the links. Thank you Emelie Rose for the Kidults track listing, and thank you Sunny Hill and Lauren for helping me with The Music Man and Charlie Brown track lists.
Important Information About the Audio Page:
- You must have Real Player And iTunes, which are free programs, in order for the preview and purchase links to work.
- Previews are not meant to stand alone, and are not meant to infringe any copyright. They are there to give you a feel for the song and hopefully encourage you to purchase that song or album.
- Something not working? Report broken links by emailing kristinfans[at]gmail.com.
Feel free to leave any questions and comments here! I'm working on a Radio/Podcast audio section right now, so if you can link me to any Kristin podcasts or radio interviews, leave a comment or send an email!
Story About Kristin in The Apple Tree
By Jasmine | 30 Apr 2008 | 6 Comments |
[TheaterMania] Heard a nice story about Kristin Chenoweth, courtesy of Mike McGowan, who was Brian D’Arcy James’ understudy in The Apple Tree, and went on twice. “Kristin called me into her dressing room before the first performance,” he said, “and said, ‘You don’t know what I’m going to do out there, and I don’t know what you’re going to do, so why don’t we have a little rehearsal here?’ Stars don’t always do that, so I was grateful.”As it turned out, McGowan didn’t know what Chenoweth was going to do the second time he spelled D’Arcy James. “As soon as I went on the stage,” he recalled, “I realized that my zipper was broken. It wasn’t just down -- it was down and broken. So I was very self-conscious, trying to find some way to cover it up, turning up-stage as Kristin came out, who said her line but then added, ‘And if I were you, I’d fix my zipper’ -- to which I said, ‘Well, I would, but it’s broken. Not all of us are perfect.’ She zapped back, ‘That’s apparent.’
“Later on, when she said, ‘My name is Eve. I wish you would use it,’ I answered with the actual line, ‘Well, in that case, it’s superfluous,’ but I added -- ‘Like my zipper.’ We were in this rarefied fantastic place. At intermission, I said to her, “Thank you for saying that about my zipper’ -- for as any actor can tell you, the minute you call attention to something that’s wrong on-stage, you then can forget about it.”
It didn’t end there. As McGowan says, “At the end of the show, when I was playing Flip who turns back into George L. Brown after Passionella turns back into Ella, I purposely left my zipper down, so when the audience saw me come over the sofa, I zipped it up. They loved it! When you go on as an understudy, you just pray you can get through the show - but to have an experience that’s spontaneous like that is just fantastic. I’m very grateful to Kristin for inspiring me."
